But what about the Explorer tranny, if you're using it? Is there an aftermarket control box for it?

msd dis 4.with dual tach drivers.must be cab mounted not under hood.expensive hunk of junk.the dis is so good no aftermarket needed.better than a stang tfi with msd 6al.plugs will last as long as you own it.wires go first.

DIS Ignitions
Cgrey8 I have to agree that the DIS ignitions are by far better than our old TFI ignitions. We are doing some testing at work, using a Ford EDIS 36-1 tooth wheel the timing is very accurate (within .4 degree at 15000 RPM) It's pretty simple a tooth every 10 degrees. The down side to the stock Ford EDIS system is it stops working at 8300 RPM. Some modules stop at 8250 RPM. I don''t know if you have seen Rides TV (the mail-order hotrod) the 572ci.Nova is using a new stand alone ICM from DFI. and if you did see the show the engine miss was the crank sensor was hitting the trigger wheel. I'm going to convert my truck over to a coil on plug set-up as soon as the weather breaks. I will let you know how it works out.
