Ya I think it's just a question of building this from scratch. I'm not really wanting to hack/re-use a factory harness. It might come back to bite me later but I want this to be a super clean install with minimal wiring.

The points distributor is only a one wire connection from the factory. All it does is connect to the negative side of the coil. In your application, you would simply connect the one wire from the distributor to the white wire from the MSD module. Very clean install. All other connections will be made on the supplied MSD harness.

I used a GM style HEI distributor.. Very simple. Drop it in, one wire hookup, and it starts right up. Two wires if you have a tach. I think it coast me like $75. NEW...

I like the sound of that. If you do that what do you do about your ignition system? I've got no wiring harness so far.

Ok I went ahead and ordered an HEI dist. Hopefully this will work work well.

After I get my alt and power steering installed I'm down to ignition, wiring, fuel tank/lines.

Anyone have any suggestions for a simple key/ignition wiring setup?
