I had a unilite distributor and Mallory type ignition on my Ranger when I built it about ten years ago but had alot of trouble with it. Being a carb'd engine ( non rolller) for sreet driving only I put in a points distributor with the pertronix system. Very simple and reliable. Due to problem I fried the pertronix ( left ignition on several days). After this I had researched the Duraspark Ford system. Picked up duraspark distributor and module at Aurozone ( lifetime warranty) and have loved it ever since. If I am away from home and have ignition problems it should be easy to fix, although I have had no problems with system.
I know it is not the latest in ignition but alot of people are runing these in their carburated street vehicles.

Just thougth I would give you another option.

Thanks 87sc302! $34 at Autozone IS a heck of a lot cheaper than $214. Maybe I will wait on the MSD until I drop the stroker in a few years from now...
