sold my ranger, still here after months ?

here's the old trucker back. weird deal here.many of you here will remember me and my ranger. will i sold it 6 months ago to a guy oversea's. he asked me to store it for a couple weeks until he could setup shipping. we email back and forth for 4-5 weeks. he payed for it the first week. first it was going to ship to los angles then to san francisco. be picked up by one company then another. then e-mails stopped. he has not answered my email for about 5 months now. email is the only way i know to get in touch with him. i don't know if he died, in hospital, in jail, what happened? anyone here know what i should do? i have his money and his ranger. i kind of feel like a thief. ....the old trucker

I'd say as long as you continue emailing him, you are in the good.

Although I would make sure to email him that you'll be taking "storage fees" from the money he paid you and when the "storage fees" exceed the payment, you'll reassume ownership of the vehicle unless he gets back with you.

The only other thing I can think to do is to do some google searches to see if you can identify him via a name he gave you. I have to assume there was more than just a 1st name or email address he used to communicate with you. IF he is dead, then hopefully someone has gotten into his email and is monitoring it. But then again, maybe nobody knows his email info???

i would send him a letter that he has to sign for asking him what the deal is. also i would talk to a lawer to see what they say.

Sounds like one of those scams where they pretend to send you money and you need to ship your vehicle. Only you really got some money. His boss must have killed him for the screw up lol.

All kidding aside, I'd contact a lawyer and try to do the right thing. Try to trace who he is and get his money back or vehicle to him or something. They surely can trace the source of the money. In fact if you get your computer in the right hands they can trace the email too and tell you where he was emailing you from.

Do you actually have the cash in your hand? Sounds like a scam to me and I wouldn't let the truck leave until you get to the bottom of this. The above advise about getting an attorney is the best.

If he paid you in full, how did you get the money??? cash, check, or e-check? I wouldnt spend the money quite yet.. That is a weird situation your in for sure...

Unless it's real cash (verified by a bank) I'd be VERY careful...too much fraud out there. I almost lost a bunch 'o money on a an Ebay deal about 10 years ago.
