motor and transmission

Post by 85 ranger btm »

Merry Christmas! I'm looking at some different transmissions but my I'm not sure how much horsepower or torque my motor is putting out. I built my motor with a stock lower end just bored .040 over a Camshaft that is Hydraulic Flat Tappet with an Advertised Duration 276/286, Lift .471/.471, port polished E7 heads and valve springs and roller rocker arms to match the cam. i also have a edlebrock performer 289 intake manifold and i don't have a carb yet. i was looking at a ford racing superduty t5 with a rating of 330ft/tq. does anyone know if i will need a stronger trans? if so my other thought was getting a tremec tko600. This is my first build so any help is much appreciated. thanks!

Welcome! You'll be plenty safe with that trans and what you are building. Enjoy and have fun with the project.
