Tachometer Calibration

Post by Jonrob41 »

I have found the answer to a problem I was having......or so I think. I am doing a swap of a 96 Explorer 5.0 into my 90 Ranger and want to use the factory tach. So after contacting MalcolmV8 and learning he no longer makes his adapter........I searched the web. What I have found is that Dakota Digital makes a Universal Tachometer signal interface part number# SGI-8 it is available from Summit and according to Dakota Digital it will do what I am wanting......I have one on the way.

What is the issue? If it doesn't have a switch to switch to 8 cycl, you can change the resistor on the back and it fixes it. Just did this in my 88 Turbo coupe.
