I've been putting some miles on my Ranger, close to 100

The weather has cleared up a little here so I have been enjoying using her up a little. The line lock is a blast  but the bed is loaded with oak logs for traction (our snow and ice) and it makes it hook up real good! Planning a trip this weekend of about 250 miles and I'm anticipating a trouble free cruise. What a neat idea, putting a V8 in a ranger! Wish me good luck guys.

Hey Mark,
Glad you are getting a chance to get it out and enjoy. Loose wood in the back is really a bad idea. We had a guy at work spend too much time in hospital when he came to a sudden stop (tree) and a chunk of wood came thru the back window. Bags of sand work a whole lot better, just thinking of you.

It's a great feeling isn't it. Especially when everything seems to work right and all is good.

I have to agree with Dave on the loose wood, had something similar happen around here. Also just as Dave said not trying to boss you just thinking of you and your safety. Passing along a little info that could help.

I've got 12-14" diameter Qak logs that are about 30" long, nothing higher than the box sides and well frozen down. Thanks for the concerns. As soon as it thaws I will be taking it out, can't wait. We had -8 here this morning!

Trip went great. The big bolt on the alternator loostened up a bit and it ran so cool that I had a hard time getting heat, that's a good problem.

If I could, I would be your neighbor but I can't afford to sell my house and loose my but. Michigan sure sucks!
