Motor is almost ready

Post by carvinmark »

A few more parts and it will be going in my truck, getting excited! Don't mind the grudge on the valve covers, just have not got to them yet.

Hey Mark,
Glad to finally put a face to the name! Malcolm and I like a little whine from up front also but it comes from the belt drive! Good talking to you and good luck with the build. Weather is just great over here for the next four days so you should have some good building days.

Thanks Dave. I might be working on it again next week, I'd like to get it running within a couple weeks but it may not happen cause of the work schedule. I almost went with the blower but changed my mind and if I want more from the motor, I'll just spray it :D

Had some time to play with the Rager today so I started plumbing in the line lock and the new oil pressure guage. After that I went to bolt up the new clutch and found stripped holes in the flywheel ( I just had it resurfaced) where the pressure plate bolts up. I just ordered a new flywheel so it will be next week befor I can put the motor in.

Have you already purchased the flywheel? If not, I have a 50oz balanced 157T unused flywheel that I may not be able to use. If you are interested, I can get you pics of it.

Darn it!! I almost posted here to ask if anybody had one. I just got one on ebay, only cost 73.00 for a new one. Thanks for the offer but I already pulled the trigger.

$73+s/h? If so, that's a pretty good deal.

I bought this flywheel for $70. It was pulled off a crate motor...never used. I wouldn't be looking to make anything off of it, just get my money out of it.

Mine cost me 72.99 with free shipping from a company that manufactures them. I felt like it was a good price.
