What's wrong with this picture?

I guess some people just have to weld so often, it's easier to just close your eyes than wear a helmet.

I have burnt my eyes before. OMG!!!!!! it didnt hurt. But when I went to bed that night, thats when I found out I did. It felt like someone put sand in my eyes. Didnt get any sleep that night. The next day my eyes where so light sensitive I couldnt even watch TV, the light was to brite.... It went away in about 24 hours. That was a ruff 24 hours im telling you. Couldnt go outside, couldnt watch TV, couldnt close my eyes, couldnt keep them open....

I finaly got an auto darkening sheild and dont have that problem anymore of buring my eyes. I can see before the sparks fly, so I dont need to NOT wear a lid for the quick tacks..... lol....

Oh for sure. I purchased an auto darkening helmet years and years ago and it was one of the greatest welding investments. I highly recommend. People get to lazy to put those on even. Not me. I like my eyes in working order.

I do that all the time for tacking something in place. Never had a problem. Thats pretty common in alot of welding shops.

My problem was, the tacking would turn to a little welding...... hmmm let me just tack this in place quick, its not that much to weld, I will just weld it up..... Ya right... Thats where I kept getting my self in trouble. The quick 2 sec tack, turned into a 1 minute weld...
