I like it. I think just moving the v8 closer together is the ticket. The variance in spacing with the ranger logo is minimal, not enough to not look authentic.

Thanks for reminding me to check on progress. Guy had foot surgury, should have them done late next week. Will post something in the for sale area when done.

I rarely, if ever, check the For Sale section, so make sure to post back in this thread when they are ready as well.

Hey Dave, You can put me down for one of those. Even though the boys is carbed we want to go efi eventually. Even if we never do it would look great on my wall with all my other unusual stuff (as my wife puts it...lol). So rack one up for me and let me know what and when I owe.

Thanks

Why wouldn't you install it on your Blue Ranger? It has a stock Explorer upper that it'd fit on doesn't it?

Yeah I sure did lol :) To many vehicles and the Rangers where the least practical for me. I needed a full sized truck so I could have a back seat and four doors to haul family and friends around. The Rangers only worked by myself or with one other person. It's ok though. Just means another project another day :)

I keep having the idea of buying a supercab Ranger similar to the 89, then going down to Mexico and getting the Crew Cab that's in decent condition off a Ranger down there, bringing it back here, and making that the basis of a project. It'd probably require some "frame stretching" to make work. But I rather like the idea of having a registered 86 or so frame with a 2000+ Crew Cab and bed...and of course it'd be a V8.

I got to sit in a crew cab Ranger in Detroit at Ford back in 2000. It was tiny inside but I probably would have bought one if we could in the States just because I really like Rangers. Of course it would have been a V8 and AWD but since they don't they lost a sale and I bought a Toyota.

Malcolm Malcolm Malcolm.....TOYOTA.....AAAARRRGGGHHH....LOL I do not understand why ford sells stuff in other countries they won't even try to sell here. You would think they would at least try, just my opinion, but opinions are like butt holes.....everybody has one.

LOL well the Toyotas are built in Indiana and are just as American as my Ford with a German engine and a Japanese transmission and Mexican plastics, head lights etc.
Besides Ford doesn't make what I want. They refuse to sell the crew cab Ranger in the US because it will dent the sales of their full sized F150 (their prized vehicle). So as far as I'm concerned that's their problem, not mine. Toyota makes exactly what I want and is rated through the roof by consumer reports. In these hard times why not get value for your money and buy a vehicle you know will last?

Finailly got the finished intake plates. The guy had foot surgury, then got busy catching up on his normal business, these kind of got shoved to the back of the pile. I'll post them down in the for sale section just to keep legal! They will be $50 + shipping, that's exactly what it cost me not including my time.
