Bad Economic Times?

Post by Dave »

Saw this on the news the other morning and had to check it out. Completely restored race Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe. Only six ever made, very documented race record. It's a '65' so that makes it "only" a 289 with the Shelby majic done to it. The place that has it up for auction started out a one of them Shady" car lots where I grew up. He is now about the third largest auction house for the high dollar cars.

To bad I don't have 10 to 15 million laying around or that'd be a one heck of a car to get. Quite a piece of history too.

Wholly crap! Someone drove this 300 miles per day? That dude is a retard! a 10-15MM car as a daily driver. No way in hell his standard insurance would policy would cover that.

I'm pretty sure when you have a 15 million dollar car you don't need an insurance policy :) you can cover yourself and then some with pocket change.

True that. Still not a good investment if its not properly insured.

Keep in mind when he owned it, probably back in the 70s. It wasn't worth that much back then. He probably never had any idea his daily driver would be worth that much today. He likely just thought it was a really cool and unique car to drive around. And owning 6 gas stations, it's not like he was worried about fuel economy.
