Yes it's the heads for sure. They are monsters. I think there are a few pics posted further back in the thread. Even though the block is cast iron I was able to pick it up out of my truck and put it on the engine stand without a hoist so it's not very big at all. I should go measure the head bolts as they were impressive. I'd guess around 12" long or more but I need to measure to be sure. Plus the valve covers are even huge to get over those cams and timing chains etc.

Warpig the block is painted black and I quite like it :) You won't even remotely see it in the car anyways.

Glad you finaly got it back. Ya, I would have to agree, you wont see that block unless you are under the car. I like a painted motor also ( other than black ), but if you cant see it............. why bother..

Even under the car you'd be hard pressed to see much of anything but the oil pan and some pulleys etc.

They sure do pack alot of crap on the motor. Its not the motor that makes the motor, its all the stuff they put on the motor that makes it what it is.

Tell that to the guy trying to figure out ring gap, main bearing clearance and crank end play :) I'll get it eventually.
