Drove the new Pontiac G8 6.0L

GM had some kind of try-it setup at Lowes this past weekend. No sales guys, just drive a car and get $15 credit in Lowes. So I chose the G8 which is the replacement for the GTO. I have to say, I wasn't impressed. It wasn't terribly comfortable and while it did get up and go when floored, it wasn't that much more powerful than my truck or at least it didn't seem like it. Perhaps it was just the traction control kicking in and keeping it from spinning out. But I would've expected a lot more sinking into the seat for a 6.0L in a small car.

Had to check out the spec's on it. 361 hp/348 ft-lbs, 4100 lbs. That weight and it only having a 2.92 rear gear sure might make a difference. Seen a strip test where it ran in the 13s at just over 100 mph.

it's the traction control making it feel slow. I work at a nissan dealership and the 350 z's are dog slow with the trac on. Turn it off and theres a huge difference. I don't like z's though, i like g8's
