I've got a trans out of an 89 f-150. I dont know if it's a Mazda or Ford transmission though.... Transfercase is still attached to it, If you know how to determine a T5 from another transmission I'll check this one out.

I'm in NY, dont know what you would wanna do about shipping....

Trans for 5.0

Post by rfechef »

Do you have any pics of the trans? After it has been cleaned up? Is it a 4 or 5 spd or auto? If you have some pics where can you post them? Email or myspace?

i will look into shipping, what are the dimenssions and weight?

What part of Upstate NY?

Thanks
Ryan

It's a 4spd w/ 5th gear being overdrive. I dont know a ton about it, bought a motor, I was given motor/transmission/transfercase as one unit. The guy actually pulled it out of the truck that way, kinda cool looking. He cut the front of the truck off with a sawsall.

Anyways, I am in Schenectady NY. The transmission is at a shop... it would be picked up by whatever shipping company there. I know some charge extra if theres no loading dock.... There is + a few forklifts so loading it is no problem. I dont remember the size off hand... just compare it to the pallet, it's a standard size pallet.

I think I answered all your questions.

What do you mean the bolt holes on the bellhousing? I pulled it off a 302, is that what your worried about? I'm looking for $200, if that seems ridiculous let me know. I'll split the t-case if need be.

There are small block and big block 302's from what I have been told. I need the 5.25 inch not the 8 inch.

Never heard of a "big" block 302. Only variation of the bellhousing mounting on a small block was the real early five bolt block. Every late 289 thru the 351 Winsor will have the same block pattern.

It's out of an 89 f-150. So it's an 89 transmission, right? :)

okay, I worked on the engine the other day. The bell housing bolts are most certainly not 8 inches or whatever. I didnt measure them but they look like there 5 1/2".

The trans came off that motor so that matches it obviously. I did mention the trans & transfercase is sold as is right? I dont know much about it besides that it came out of an 89 f150 4x4

where would I find em? It's kind of a pain to get at so if theres anything else you need to know, I'll look at the same time. Are any of the numbers visible in the pictures?
