I think it's finially starting to show up here in Wisconsin, about time. Never hit 50 degs in March, almost 60 today. Still have some big piles of snow around. Was able to get the 4x2 out yesterday for the drive to work, forgot how snappy the 3.0 is compared to the 4.0 4x4. Time to start the "Projects"! They both need the Explorer power.
How's it going in everone else's world?

Mid 60's and wet, got another 4+ inches yesterday. Water everywhere here, might be a long planting season this year.
cjc, forgot you were going to be in Jonesboro, my dad was in hospital and with all the flooding around here I spaced out. I was sitting at hospital on April 1 and kept thinking something was happening that day, then I remembered it was the day you said you were going back. Hope you had a good visit, wish I would have remembered. Would be nice to put a face with name, I would have drove the boy's truck down and let you check it out. Nothing big to look at as a truck but kinda cool to check out the 5.0 sitting in it. Could have given you a ride and you would have went back all fired up to get yours done....LOL. Anyway's sorry I forgot.
Dave, don't warm up to fast now. We don't need all that snow melt at one time down here. It's gonna be a mess as it is.

no big deal, somethings are more important. we had a good time. really have to limit grandma's contact with the baby. talk about spoiled. we went to memphis a few times. driving 40 or 55 looks like the causeways around here. water on both sides of the interstate. just trees and the tops of fence posts. too bad they cant pump that down here. i know i could use it, cgrey too. were all pretty dry.

True. Although, this has been a nice rainy winter here, and yet we are still in drought mode. Heck it's raining outside right now, has been since yesterday and the expectation is that it'll continue into this afternoon. Earlier this year, they even had to release water from one of the reservoirs because it was getting too high. But yet we are still in a drought.
I've come to realize that we aren't in a drought. We just have inadequate facilities to maintain the number of people and businesses in the Atlanta area. Metro Atlanta has steadily grown year after year, and nobody has bothered to do anything about the water facilities until the water holds last year got low enough that we got national attention. I have no clue what is being done about it, if anything. But I expect more of the same if this summer doesn't bring more rain. Last summer and the summer before were particularly dry...dryer than normal. The problem with this area isn't that we don't get enough rain. It's that we get our rain in the winter and we get a much lesser amount in the summer. So we have to hold that rain water to use during the summer. Now that more people are using that water, the storage facilities are simply proving to be inadequate. There was even talk of putting water restrictions on businesses at the end of the summer last year. It didn't happen, but can you imagine how gross the bathrooms would get if you couldn't flush the toilets because the water usage for your business had run out for the day?

we have pretty strict water restrictions here, but a lack of enforcement. i agree totally. all of the new developments and golf courses have put a strain on resources. cant stop progress, right?
