I think there was a 15 year old member back a while. He got preached at about the dangers of a high powered machine in the hands of a new driver. He probably didn't hear the things he wanted to hear and so he didn't stick around much. I think he was being encouraged to do the swap with a stock motor to start with instead of diving into the project with intentions of building a 350+hp machine that would not belong in the hands of some 30 year olds, well alone a new driver.

that is pretty young thats why I just want to do a stock swap for now. . .
maybe when I'm 30 or so I'll think of doing a twin - turbo set up. that would be sweet!

I recall a kid who wrecked not long ago.... I think he was back street racing. I don't know his age but seemed pretty young.

I'm turning 55, and have been racing since 1973. Started at the old US 30 Dragway in Indiana.
As for new drivers in high powerd cars, I put students of mine in a school sponsered race car with over 500 HP. The car is properly prepared with full cage and safety harness. We train in the school parking lot untill I think they are ready to go down the track. We have been racing the car for three years with no problems.[/list]
