The 2-core Ranger radiator's been working good on my 5.0L...and it's REGULARLY 90°+ here in Atlanta. I've even left my truck sitting still at idle for a good 10-15 minutes with the outside air around 93°. The under-hood temps reached 150° and the engine still maintained an average of 205° no problem. I actually expected the engine temps to maintain 215s, but the temp acted like it normally does going up to around 210°, then dropping down to 198°, then back up.

So yeah, I think the 2-core Ranger rad works fine and would work fine even with a lightly modified engine. What I don't know is how it'd work under tow or with AC & an automatic tranny dumping heat into it. That might challenge the stock 2-core a little more. I don't know.

My blue truck, daily driver, has the 2 core Ranger radiator and in MO we have 100 degree days with pretty close to 100% humidity at times. Dang heat sucks. Anyhow that 2 core radiator does just fine, I have an auto using the cooler on the tranny, followed by an additional cooler, and I have A/C. I've been suck in traffic/accidents etc. for an hour plus. No over heating problems. Although I've found having a lead foot around town and really hammering on it will bring the temps up more than sitting idling in traffic.
BTW - I use twin 12" pusher fans.

That's a good price. I think I paid around $160 from a local discount radiator warehouse.
