31 spline axles are not equal length, 28s are. Why?

Ken, Welcome aboard! Your answer about shifting engine/trans to the right makes since even in the older cars (say the '60's) that started this trend. Transmission linkage (T-10 and toploaders) all had their external linkage towards the driver and would have probably ended up under his knee if not shifted to the right.

Ken, thanks for signing up and taking the time to clarify. It's nice to see a guy who stands behind his product and is interested in helping his customers (and other Ford fans) instead of just making a quick buck and moving on.

Thanks
Malcolm

Hi all, thanks for having me. Let me throw one more thing out there for the Ranger guys. A look in the Ford parts system shows that the Explorer Sport Trac 8.8" may have 28 or 31 spline axles and the 2001 Ranger shows a 8.8"-31 spline option. Will you ever see one, who knows. Be careful out there axle hunters.
