98 ranger with 2000 mountaineer 50 swap problems

98 ranger with 2000 mountaineer 50 swap problems
New to this forum stuff. I swapped my 2.5 for a 5.0. Was 5speed. changed to auto. changed dash from 99 ranger auto and steering column from 99 ranger without pats. Will start and run with 96 explorer computer without pats but will not shift properly. Will run on a 97 f150 4.6 computer but runs poorly but shifts. Running out of options with this computer crap. Help!

What year is the transmission and harness? Sometimes a problem there with different years

Yep, that's the same problem someone else ran into. The computers from '99-2001' are all the same, maybe the '98' also will work.

got 98 ranger with 5.0 I know about torque monster headers does anybody else make one that fits. I also seen the m-9430-e50 ford motor sports header for explorer but they don't make them any more any body no of anything that will work
