Anybody using a hei distribator on a small block. Im changing to a carb system on my truck and looking for the best carb manifold for it. 98 explorer 5.0. Looking for low end perfprmance. Stock mortor

Yes we run an HEI distributor. If you want a intake that works in the low end you need a dual plane manifold, if you are going to run the HEI you need to make sure the runner for the left front cylinder is the low runner. We had to swap intakes on the boy's truck when we went HEI cause the distributor is so big it would hit the runner and not sit all the way down. The first intake we had was a Cobra intake off of a hipo 289 and the left front runner was the tall runner. We run basically the same intake now just the runners are swapped side to side so the left front runner is the low side. I don't remember exactly what intake we have but will look next time I see him and he is going slow enough I can get hood open..... :arrow:
