so i am going from the stock 4.o fuel lines to the 5.0 ...
how did everyone go about doing this ..????

I went from 2.9L lines to 5.0L lines and the quick-connect pieces were different. I just made up adapters to adapt between my truck's fittings and the engine's fittings. Here's the thread with pics of what I had to do:

I went new from the fuel filter in the frame rail. Cut the return line, obviously.
Up the frame rail, across the front cross member, then into Fox body hard lines on the front of the engine.
The real reason for all of this was corroded pushlok fittings on the Ranger frame rail.

Corrosion and body rust are fortunately things we don't have to deal with much here in Ga. I sometimes forget how easily cars can rust out in areas where it snows a lot.

I just made a mini adapter fuel hose with the correct size quick connect fittings on each end.

so to answer my own question ... I grabed the fuel rails and lines off the donor 97 mercury mountaineer and they are a perfect match for the 91 4.0 lines..
you can see in this pic how they stay kind of hidden by coming out the back side of the intake and down to the stock 4.0 lines ..
