1 noisy lifter

Post by davem »

In my new 302 I used new comp rockers, new comp pushrods. new ford racing roller lifters and i have 1 noisy lifter. They are all adjusted the same and the nuts are with in .002 of each other in distance down the stud. Any ideas before i tear it down and replace the lifters? It is positively a lifter. and the noise is not coming from the rockers.

how much run time do you have on the engine. Sometimes lifters just have a hard time pumping up. Best thing I have found is to run engine to operating temp then shut off. let sit about 30 mins and do again. I have had to do this 5-6 times before.

I have 200 miles on it. does not effect the way it runs at all just the noise. Sounds like what we used to call a dead lifter. I had heard bad things about every lifter Mfg. out there so i went with FRP lifters. I guess i will change them out with Comp lifters.
