Steel Gear

Does any one know if its ok that I run a steel dristro gear? I have a xe264 cam. I don't see anything that says I shouldn't.

Btw motor is together will put pics up later :)

I've had good luck running steel dist gear. Did you spend Thanksgiving building your engine, :P sounds like what I would do. How soon till you will be putting it in?

AFAIK, all roller cams are steel-gear tolerant since that's what Ford used stock on them. I think its only standard lifter cams that are sensitive to the gear only being bronze. But I could be wrong.

Yep, need a steel gear with that cam, but............depends on what kind of distributor you are using also. I would really reccomend to a lot of you out there to download the FRPP catalog for all kinds of good info. This is from that catalog.

Yep motor is completely put together. I hit a HUGE speed bump in fundings (all bills from that spinal tap stuff came in). I need to pull a couple motors and trans to finish up but should be doing weekend warrior type thing.

been there.. had many of them done....and more ......... plus 4 surgeries so far... last was a spinal fusion .... still need at least 2 more ... so i know about the speed bumps on funds .... hope it all works out for ya
