Wheel standing at Bryon Dragstrip

Post by Dave »

This is where I really wanted to go to today but too long of a drive, already gong down next week. Every year they have a wheelstanding constest down there. The Gremlin is winner from a couple of years ago. Today the same driver put car on the roof, don't know if it was the Grimlin or not.

Very cool Dave. Found myself watching quite a few videos after seeing that one.

Did you see the schoolbus wheelies? After that I watched the Front End Loader Stoppie...that was kindof interesting.

I saw the "Coolbus", a wheelstander, at Mid Michigan Dragway about 10 years ago.

I was down at that drag strip in the late '60's when they ran four at a time. Most exciting was when they had two AA fuliers at the line and two AA/SS Dodges back about 100-150 ft from the start line. They let the Super Stocks go and when they hit the start line, the fuelers took off. At the far end it was fueler, Dodge, fueler and Dodge. It was so close and potentionaly dangerous, they never did it again. Track is now just two lanes wide and gives a lot of room to the guard rail. Sure wish I had taken my camera that day.
