yup like 2lo-rngr says nittos run very narrow. A set of 315 nittos on my car where far narrower than any other brand 315 I've run. There's a pretty nice pic floating around on the net that shows a few 315s side by side. The guy made a cardboard cutout and put it around each and shows the difference in widths. I'll see if I can find it.

Just for the heck of it, here's a 295/35/18 on an 18X10 Bullitt, the tire is a General Exclaim UHP. I measure it at 11 5/8" at the widest point. It does protect the rim nicely.

I have a set of Nexxen N3000 on the front rims. 18X9, tire measures exactly 10". (same as the rim)

Thanks all. From the last post that Malcolm has, thinking that 285's wouldn't of been the best idea. In a couple more weeks, I'll order my tires, and hope like hell that I don't run in to any problems. I know that I need to roll the wheel well lip off the bat, so I hope that I can roll it enough to clear 315's. So Nittos the narrowest 315?

if you get the nitto 315's and roll the outer lip you'll be fine. Put up some pics when you get em mounted!

im running Cooper Cobra's on my 90 Ranger ........ 295/50/15 on Weld pro star wheels that are 10 inch wide and i only had to roll my fender lip like 1/2 inch or so and they clear the frame and springs by about 1 to 1 1/2 inches and do not rub at all and i got my truck lowered 3 1/2 inches in front and 4 inches in the rear they look GOOD too and get moderate traction also ..... just my 2 cents worth there but usually when i give my 2 cents worth i get a nickle back .............. lmao

Thanks. 2 cents is better than none. Well. I'm going with a set of 285/40's. I found a almost new set on craigslist for $150.00. That will at least get my wheels on. Plus, I'll know for sure what brand 315 to buy on the next round. I'll have pics this weekend.

Well I got some pictures of the truck with the wheels and tires on it. I think it needs a taller tire though. Next round will be taller and wider! Thanks for all the comments and help guys.

The profile, height, on tires looks good in the pictures. I like the dish on the rear rim.

ditto on the "looking good." I think the tires and wheels look great, I wouldn't change a thing. I just ordered the brackets and things I need to put my ranger on air, I hope that "jumpstarts" my enthusiasm to work on it, as a bunch of side jobs/honey-do/my other vehicles, etc. have been taking up my time. I'd really love to see it painted and bagged with a v8 this summer. We'll see what happens.
