I am with you on that one, There is not a better sound in the world than 8 cyl singing in harmony. I very seldome even have my radio on the where I can here it. I would rather here my exhaust. I love the sound of my truck, and like to make everyone else hear it too lol.

Eh... I like to sneak up on people and pull past them without any noise.

A little noise, like the subtle whine of a quiet gear drive timing set and the Grrrrrr of a supercharger and maybe the gear train is what I am looking for. Just don't like loud exhausts.

You guys gotta remember that I got a supercharger hanging off of the front of my car, and Pete Jackson gear drives on both, and Voodoo rockers etc. for sounds. Don't need loud exhausts that tell the neighbors when I am home.

Yeah, you hear this Vvvvtick Vvvvtick Vvvvvtick while they are running. My machinist says that this comes from the aluminum heads conducting the sound out.

Hmmmmm, I guess untill I here one, I cant say I would like to hear my rockers tapping, to me that would mean they are not adjusted right, or the lifters a not pumping up.

I like a little noise but sure would like a lot of them Harlies pulled off the road, I can hear them 1/10 mile ahead doing 70 mph, there are laws but not enforced around here.
Adam, one problem with running a blower, sure Malcolm would agree is that you just love to hear that thing kick in and there goes you're mileage!
I see way too many people today at a lot of the Mustang sites wanting to go with that old Muscle Car sound with the lumpy idle and really killing their street maners and mileage. Comes down to, you want to be fast or sound fast. New world out there.

Exhaust noise is all about preference. My red truck was loud and wicked sounding but then I only cruised in it for fun. My blue truck is quiet (cats and stock F150 muffler) and you can't even tell there's a V8 except under WOT and even then only to a trained ear. It was daily driven and I didn't care for the noise all the time.

The Cobra is a completely different animal. My friends can hear my blower long before they can even see the car. No kidding. They can hear me coming down the interstate before I even take the off ramp. My Cobra's exhaust is pretty quiet though. This vid is a perfect example. Notice you can hear the blower before you even see the car. My blower's louder than his though. He has a stage 3 port and 2.76 pulley. I have a stage 4 port and 2.76 pulley. His exhaust is louder than mine though.

Yeah the blower sound is addictive. I've resorted to youtube for my fixes until my car is back on the road :) hopefully in the next couple weeks or so.

That's exactly what I was talking about - I would much rather hear the supercharger noise than I would like to hear exhaust sound.

My mustang is set up in a similar fashion - VERY quiet exhaust and a whiny Super Charger and subtle Pete Jackson. That's what I am after.... :o)

This weekend I will be removing the 3" body lift on my Ranger and trying to fit everything under the fender wells with the DJM lower kit - should look MUCH better.
