I'm a little curious as to what you are having done to the crossmember? I run a T5 and like you, the mounting location for the T5 was forward about 3" from the mounting holes on the crossmember. But I made up the difference with a 6"x6"x1/4" steel plate.
Otherwise, it looks like you are in for one heck of an improvement over what you had with a 2.3L. A buddy of mine has a similarly jacked up S10 4wd. It has a 4.3L so it's a bit stronger than what you were dealing with but he hates having to deal with the full size jacked up trucks always passing him going up hills. He's hoping to drop a SBC350 in there at some point especially after me driving my V8 Ranger to work everyday and talking about it all the time just to rub it in. Point is, you are gonna love it when it's done. In fact, you'll drive it for a while, and then you are going to want MORE. And then you'll be back revisiting that motor's internals.

Im gettin a flat plate welded on that will basically extend to the mount and its getting two angled supports going from the end of the plate back down to the crossmember, ill take pics when i get it back tomorrow.
But o yeah i havent even turned it over yet and im already looking through ebay and race magazines every night to see what i can buy to push out ever last bit of hp i can get, in fact as soon as im done im putting aside a small amount of money every month to save up for a 347 stroker kit

Why no lift in the rear? is it the stance you want for jumping hills or something? It looks like a baja racer.

yaeh thats the look im goin for down here we call it a "Baja" or "Calli" lift, but with the low rear end it lowers the center of gravity making it less likely to roll, and also while going over the woops the rear end gets bounced around like crazy and the lower it is to start with the lower it will hop and you wont dig the front end into the ground and go end over end.
