rust is a big problem here I had so much to clean and paint since my truck has almost 500 000Km on it but my frame floor are in excellent shape (thanks to the under coating it has!!!) we got tons of salt dumped on the road in winter your car goes white if you don't wash it regularly.

I live in Georgia and have lived and driven the truck since I owned it down here. The original owners also lived down here. With nearly 300kmiles on it now, there's no major rust in the body that I'm aware of. So it must be just a northern thing with all the road salt.

That's right. Salt lowers the freezing point of water. That's why I call the north Salt Country.

I think that "Why salt" was CJ's Florida humor coming thru. He probably has to worry more about the salty sea air. Life expectancy of cars and trucks driven in the Winter is a lot less up here. Malcolm had some pictures of just how bad he found his Red truck to be when he tore it apart.

We get a good amount of visitors from the northeast, michigan, illinois, indiana down here. Honestly I dont know how guys wrench on these things all day long. I put a front pump seal in a grand marquis from michigan 2 weeks ago and there wasnt a square nut or bolt under that thing. I soaked it in pb blaster overnight and still had the blue wrench going. had to cut the exhaust hardware off. drilled and tapped both exhaust manifolds, and had to use a vise grip to get 2 of the starter bolts out. brake lines that looked like if you breathe on them they would fall apart. I guess you get used to it.
