I was under the impression from cjcmomor4's post about how the vapor system works that the system is used on all explorer V8 computers 96 and up regardless of the return type (returnless or not). I thought the sensor is just for the computer in controlling the VMV and the CVS durring purge and tests...

I don't know of any bellhousings that will mate a 5.0 with a transmission used in a ranger. Besides, the transmissions used in the rangers are not built to handle the torque that a V8 will put out. It will probably just break and leave you stranded somewhere(or wrecked). If you change out the weaker...

Awesome info, I appreciate the explanation. I can see from the EVTM that the wiring connections for the in tank pressure transducer are in the connector for the fuel pump/sender. Is the pressure transducer part of the pump assembly or is it mounted somewhere else inside the tank? I am wondering if I...

Everyone here is doing a swap that is different. What you want to get out of the truck when you are done with it will determine the parts that you should use (how much hp, emissions compliance, budget are things to consider). If you expand a little more about your expectations you can get some good ...

Back when I was researching this I decided that I would like to go with the EEC-V if I could because it is cleaner and uses the OBD-II diagnostics. I used the '97 explorer computer so that it didn't have PATS. My '94 had the charcoal canister and the vent solenoid so I'm familiar with those but I do...

The motor that I have is out of a '99 exploder that I converted back to the '97 style of injection and such so that I can use the '97 computer. I would probably need to change much more than just the pcm to go with the 89-93 mustang pcm (EDIS and probably a bunch of sensors), don't even know if a pc...

I ordered the E303 cam the other day before I saw the note in the FRPP catalog. Do you think that I should go ahead and install it in the motor? Are the associated difficulties fixable enough to swap out the cam when using the explorer computer? I really wanted to install it but I would also like to...

I was thinking about getting some kind of bar and drilling a couple of holes in it so that I could bolt it to the flywheel bolt holes horizontally. Then the bolts that hold the engine to the stand would keep the bar from turning and also keep the engine from rotating. But since you mentioned the imp...

stainless steel hoses
where can I get a stainless steel hose with -4 AN fittings on it. I need something to go from the clutch slave to the trans. The only hoses I can find on the net are at summit and they are for installing gauges in the dash. I'm not sure about the exact length that I'll need but I'll know soon and I'...

Yep you would think that something cleaner than the oem stuff or that does not effect emissions levels would get easy approval but that is not always the case. Just like with any government agency the decisions that they make don't always make sense. Sometimes the easiest way is just to put the fact...

crankshaft balancer
All the auto parts stores have the tool that you use to remove the crankshaft balancer but what do you use to install it again? The manual says not to bang it on with a hammer so I assume that it doesn't go back on easily.

The last time that I had to smog my ranger(every other year here in CA) the DMV paperwork that came in the mail said in big bold letters SMOG ONLY STATION. That just means that you have to take the vehicle to a station that runs the test only. They don't do any king of repairs there. When I was talk...
