Re: New to the site
We did the homemade mounts on the boy's truck, they were easy and cheap and have had no problems with them at all. We run about 300 hp and no problems. We don't ground pound the truck but we do hammer on it everyonce in awhile and have a little fun. They work no problem if your building a daily driv...

Re: changing to carb
Yes we run an HEI distributor. If you want a intake that works in the low end you need a dual plane manifold, if you are going to run the HEI you need to make sure the runner for the left front cylinder is the low runner. We had to swap intakes on the boy's truck when we went HEI cause the distribut...

Re: intake manifold
you can take a 1964 289 intake and put it on a 1999 302 engine, I have done it. If it says it will fit a 302 it will fit any year 289/302. I am even 95% sure you could put it on a 260 or 221 engine. I am really showing my age now

Re: What's involved with putting a 5.0 Explorer in a 97 Rang
They do make headers to fit the "P" heads in Mustangs cause so many people are running them but I do not know if they will work in a Ranger or not. If I ever build another one I will probably order a set just to see if it will work.

Re: Help with build list (v8 pulleys + accessories)
We used the Explorer front accesories....only way to go in my opinion, it is not complicated and gives you plenty of room between Radiator and engine. You can run a mechanical fan no problem if you want to. We run an electric one but you could use a mechanical if you wanted. As far as wiring with th...

Re: Help with build list (v8 pulleys + accessories)
The boy's 85 was just like 87sc302. had two pumps. The in tank pump only put out 6psi and thats what we ran straight to carb and never had any problems. If your going carb you should be able to run about any distributor you want. We put an Mallory HEI on the boy's truck and it has worked great. cgre...

Best Way To Reattatch Shifter Knob
As title says...the shifter knob has came off Dad's truck. I have tried silicone which works for a time but doesn't last. Just wondering if anyone has come up with a good solution.

Re: New to V8 Ranger
exactly what heads are you running....I love the 289 engine, the rev quick. But I may be able to help you on the heads if I know which ones they are. I need the numbers like c7oz-B or C8OE-M or something like that,

Re: 351W swap?
Yep, and it was either in the late 70's or early 80's so it was one of them really little civic's. The valve covers stuck out above the fenders but it was in there and it drove down the highway. It was a really clean job, looked like a skateboard with a engine on it....

Re: 351W swap?
my theory is if you have the time, the money, a cutting torch and a welder you can do anything you want to do. Once seen a 454 in a Honda Civic....ever since then I believe I can do it.
