Will not idle
Help -----about 3 weeks ago my Ranger died when a wire came off the fuel pump relay. While looking for the problem of the wire I pulled the relay and left the ignition on till the next day. I fixed the wire but then the pertronix ignition was fried (6 years old) so I bought a new one but the truck w...

Re: Family
Sorry for your situation, I have three daughters and I cannot imagine the hurt your daughter and your family is going through.
Praying for your daughter and you family. Turning it over to the Lord is the only way.

Re: header selection
The Tri-Y headers for 65-66 Musatng work great with a C4 or T5 not sure about AOD or C6 transmissions. The only thing I had to do when I installed mine ( with engine installed was remove starter). Driver side was easy but I had to roll them in on passenger side above the sway bar crossmember. I boug...

Re: Are there OHC conversion kit for Windor blocks?
Actually back in the mid to late sixties someone developed a sohc kit for the 289 and had one in a Mustang. I remember seeing the kits for about 2 months in car magazine articles and then they just went away. Rumor was that Ford bought them out. I never really saw one myself. It was about the same t...

Re: Hey guys...New here
Welcome, For the fuel pressure problem on an 87 model is a simple fix. The truck has two fuel pumps a low presure in tank and a high pressure in the frame rail under the cab. remove the high pressure and put seaction of fuel line in and you are done. for years I ran the pressure regulator with a ret...

Re: Fuel pump question again
I believe the two pump setup requires a reservoir between the pumps just before the frame pump. Otherwise the the pumps will be working against each other.
The factory setup had a reservoir and filter beside the frame pump. I just removed the frame and reservoir from my carb'd ranger.

Re: Thinking of going to an automatic
I had an AOD (non E) in my Ranger for a couple years. It had a Trans-go shift kit and once I got the tv cable set with correct pressure it was great. The tv cable is the most important thing if not right you can destroy the tranny. The tranny is very wide and some headers may need modifications. I a...
