WTB GT40 Heads
I was just wondering if anyone out there had a set of GT40 heads they were looking to sell. I don't want the "P" heads now just the GT40 heads. If you do let me know what's you got please. Malcolm, I know this probably should have been in the For Sale forum just figured it would get more e...

Re: Feeling a little snookered/bad main seal?
Don't worry about the pic thing, I am one of them technically challenged people to. I usually have to have one of my kids do it for me when they come over.... As for the oil leak, it could be your intake, valve covers, head gasket. You need to look at the top of the engine and see if oil is r...

Re: coolant fitting
you should be able to time it no problem. Even if you have to move the distributor a tooth one way or the other, there is enough distance between tabs to time it. We didn't have any problems anyways.

Re: coolant fitting
don't have any pics and probably couldn't post them anyways(very technically challenged) but we run a HEI on the boy's truck. we run an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and the hose fitting comes up right next to the HEI. When I say right next to it I mean touching it. There is no room to spare, it ac...

Always a good feeling to hear them run the first time. Sounds good, a good exhaust system and she'll be sounding real good. Might look like a sleeper but definitely not sound like a sleeper....

Re: Performance Tuners... ???.......
Not that brand but I installed a bullydog on my brothers 08 Charger and it made a big difference. He knew someone where he lives who had a Challenger with the same engine and when they raced it was a even race according to both of them. My brother knows nothing of cars so he asked me to do this for ...

Re: Really bad engine sludge
I have ran ATF with great results. Just add a quart when doing the oil change. It will clean an engine rather well. As far as the tubes for venting that is all that use to be on engine before the pcv. They use to have a draft tube, the end of the tube was cut at an angle with the long point pointing...

Re: Really bad engine sludge
Yes Malcolm that is from probably no oil changes. When I was in the dealerships we would have a similar problem. The engine would get so sludged up that the drain holes would get plugged or dang near plugged. After the engine had sat there awhile you could start them and all was fine, within one min...

Finally found a Deal
2000 Ranger king cab 2WD with a 3.0, engine supposedly junk but the rest of the truck in really good shape. $500, I drag it home and charge battery, engine fires right up but has no oil pressure. So I call the guy up to just make sure what happened with truck, he said he was driving it and suddenly ...

Re: Newbie from NC
That thing would have to really be out of level to make that big of difference, I don't believe that is anything to be worried about. The engine is suppose to have a slight tilt front to back. Just my opinion but no way I would put air shocks on the front, your asking for problems there. We too ran ...

Hey agapeblues, first welcome sit back and enjoy the ride. The best Hot Rod site by far in my opinion. No bickering and putting each other down here just a helpful place to be. Although I am in SE MIssouri now I grew up in your neck of the woods, the Sacramento area. Some good ole hot rod memories t...

Re: SVT Ranger prototype back in 97
Yup I remember that, at the time there was a lot of chatter inside of Ford and it was really thought that Ford was gonna pull the trigger and do it. But as you know it never happened, it would have outsold the F-150 so they couldn't do it.
