I do not know the exact differences in the pans. I have never personally seen a L&L pan, but I do know I would not pay the price they want for a pan when the fox body one works great. It fits like it was made for it. That's all I have to say about that....

Hey Buddy, I put a 85 T-bird 302 in my sons 85 Ranger and it had over 100,000 miles on it. It burns about a quart every 500 miles. That's how wore out it is and trust me, that baby will run circles around that 3.0 you got. Only reason I didn't rebuild it is he never drove anything with to much power...

I would say you have the timing to far advanced since it's running fast and hard to crank. That's where I would start anyway's. Have you driven it on the road yet. If so is it pinging, if so the timing is definitely to advanced. Just a starting point.
