Re: Mechanical fuel pump?
just wanted to confirm what 87sc302 said, we did the same thing on my son's truck and all is good. As long as the pressure pump was mounted to the frame the in tank pump only put's out like 7psi and works great on a carb. We too have ran it that way for years.

Re: Anyone completely removed the PCV system before?
Yes the pcv will help keep sludge from forming, it helps to keep moisture from building up due to temperature differences between the inside and the outside of the engine. I have been building engines from the old draft tube days(as Dave has mentioned) to the pcv systems and it is a major difference...

Re: Quick-n-dirty toe in alignment after tierod replacement
I know you by no means need this anymore but what I do is take a screwdriver and get myself set where I can be as steady as possible then I have someone spin the tire while I make a scribe in it all the way around. I do both tires then use a tape measure and measure in front and in back of tires at ...

Re: L&L Mounts bad or just used?
that is pathetic, and you didn't even have a stout engine. if they still have the same design your 331 will eat them up. My boy's stock four banger mounts have done better than that.

Re: 99 Ranger/Explorer
I agree Chris....if you have never driven anything with power you are still inexperienced, but at least you know how to drive, big difference between knowing how to drive and getting use to power as just learning to drive and throwing power in with it.

Re: 99 Ranger/Explorer
Just my opinion but I don't think you should start a kid off in a Hot Rod like that anyways. It's a good way to get him hurt bad or killed....I have seen it way to many times. Let him learn to drive before driving with power....kids think they can handle it but have no idea how to. Again just my opi...

Re: How difficult is it to replace a steering box?
I'm sure that had a lot to do with it. You could always start soaking the thing with penetrating oil like a week before you know your gonna do the job, just give her a shot everyday. Just a thought

Re: How difficult is it to replace a steering box?
It's very simple Chris, with all you have done this will be a walk in the park. The boy's pitman arm came off pretty easy, we had no problems when we went from P/S to manual then back to P/S. It was like hitting the easy button for us.
