Re: Ladder Bar's vs stock springs and trac-bars

usmcrp1044, I know at the track I go to you do not need a cage until you go 11.49 or faster. I would wait and see how fast you go before spending that kind of dough on a cage. From the sound of it your setup will be similar to mine, i'm planning on going around 12.50's on the motor and somewhere in ...

Re: Ladder Bar's vs stock springs and trac-bars

leaf springs with trac bars are fine for anything short of tens, all you need is good weight transfer. Set your truck up to distribute weight toward the back and you will be good. (aluminum heads= -50 lbs off the front) fuel cell and battery box in the back will do well too.

As far as an automatic transmission goes, a c4 would most likely be the easiest. If you're planning on doing alot of highway driving i would stick to an overdrive trans.

Re: Am I the only snowmobile fan?

haha, yeah we don't have d class in the northeast. D class starts when you get down around maryland (midatlantic motocross) I stopped riding when i was 17, so I only raced like 2 years on big bikes after 80's.

Re: How do you find a spun rod bearing?

Very odd that there is no metal shavings in the pan after running the engine with such a noise. My friend bought an 01 lightning a few years back with 22k miles on it and a few thousand miles later after he drained the diesel oil out of it, the spun rod bearing knocked like no tomorrow. Luckily with...

Drag Radial

Hey guys I'm trying to figure out how wide of a drag radial i can go. I know a guy running a 275 60 15 on his ranger but his isn't as low as mine. Mine is slammed, and i mean slammed like tucking tire by about 3 or 4 inches. So I don't know if I can fit a tire that is 11.5 inches wide. Im thinking m...

Re: The old trucker

nah haha just wonderin. I was thinking maybe if your heads were too restrictive that would cause your overheating issue, but obviously that is not the case.

you're most likely gonna need to get your shaft shortened, like the rest of us. luckily for me I bought a ranger that already had a 302 and a c4 in it at one time, and the driveshaft and crossmember came with the deal =)

the early 80's 302's had e5's then e6's, 87 the e7 came out and guess what, they still suck for performance. All ford did was put slightly bigger valves in the e7's for more top end (not alot). Personally for the same price I would get a late 80's early 90's 302 h.o (forged pistons) and you can put ...

The last i raced was two years ago and i was in 125c, 4 stroke open, and college boy. The last bike i had was a yz250f. Once in a while I would race 250C because there wasnt as many goons in that class.

We get snow here and there in sj, but i always raced motocross. It's not worth it to buy a snowmobile here. Now i'm retired from motocross and i'm gonna start drag racing =)
