Re: 98 explorer ecu with big cam

With regards to blocking off the IAC, I've done that on my 5.0 Ranger, and also on my 4.6 Mustang. I used a solid gasket. I have since wapped to a normal gasket on the Ranger (no particular reason), but my Mustang is still blocked off, and drops to 600 RPM immediately when the clutch is pushed. I ju...

Re: Cowl Hood qestion......

Mine is in paint jail right now, so no installed pics. I was thinking "I'll probably mess the paint up a little". Now I'm just convinced I'll never see the thing again. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o309/teddyzeephotos/TruckSwap12/IMG_2685.jpg http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o309/t...

Re: Just for the heck of it :)

The current white paint on the trim pieces is Duplicolor wheel paint and clear.
The piece by the windshield, if you could see it, is Duplicolor plastic/vinyl dye. Much better look and texture. I'll scuff all the white pieces one day soon and shoot them with more dye.

Re: New guy here.

Sounds good. I mention the AWD as 2wd are very rare where I am. You should have plenty of room for the exhaust. For mine, I asked the hotrod guys who is the best in town for custom exhaust. Took him 1.5hrs, plus the section of pipe (I already had the Flowmasters). I don't recall off the top of my he...

Re: New guy here.

Welcome :) Not sure if you've seen my exhaust, but it's just how you describe, and identical to 89Ranger5.0's, except there is no crossover. I'm using Flowmaster 40s. Here is an old pieced together exhaust we made, but you can see the O2s in the collector. They are horizontal and JUST fit: http://i1...

Nice!

I'm on season four, and I'll guess 20K KM, 12K miles. Finished June of '09.

Re: Newbie from NC

YES..... by ALL means.. get a MSD ignition.. if money permits.. get the 6AL ... the distributor for your engine and the coil ... and while ya at that... get some GOOD 8 or 9mm wires (NOT solid core) and a set of good plugs.... you WONT go wrong with a MSD ignition system.. its VERY VERY reliable!!!...
