Re: The best part about building a V8 Ranger

Close... It is March "style" brackets. They're about $100 I believe, on eBay or any of the parts places, for both brackets. I modified the alternator side be trimming the turnbuckle to mount the alt upside down. Pulleys themselves are the typical aluminum underdrive set. Quite simple and q...

Re: To pull and sell or not

I might be interested in the wiring/ECU from the 2000 2wd if it is worth your time, and reasonably priced.
Everything from the 3 firewall plugs forward. If I ever swap my '01, it would make life easy.

Re: Big front brakes

The brackets are very simple, it's the machining of a stock Ranger rotor into a hub that would be hard for the non machinist. http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o309/teddyzeephotos/TruckSwap10/FrontCobra12.jpg http://i123.photobucket.com/albums/o309/teddyzeephotos/TruckSwap10/CobraDriverSide.jpg htt...

Hello... Pics!

Hey guys... Nothing new here, truck is sitting in storage. In the summer, I finally finished my cowl hood and tonneau, not sure if I ever posted pics. This spring I have a little rust repair to tackle, the lower right rear box corner. I believe a patch panel is available. Also considering some sort ...

Re: Explorer v8 accessory drive

Tech tip: Use all-thread for intake bolts that are longer than 6", works like a charm!

And, just because you didn't actually say it, you do need the Ex balancer/pulley if you choose to run the Ex accessories.

Bright side is that it's costing you less than buying new mounts.
Happy wrenching!

Anyway, it is interesting to know those nuts are available from somewhere on the Internet. Although I'm sure you pay a premium for them.
And so far after your replacement, you're still only into this for $.01
Your other $.02 could be cashed out at any time :)

Re: How difficult is it to replace a steering box?

I bought a used box including a Pitman arm :) Made things very easy!

I probably mentioned that earlier... Of course, I did that after my puller explained to me that the arm was NOT coming off...

The nut holding the pitman arm? Any bits of cotter pin left?
I don't remember the size, but it must have been common.

Re: L&L Mounts bad or just used?

I would take the opportunity to install some urethane Mustang mounts at this time.
But I'm never offended by a cheaper solution, either!
