Dave in Wisconsin - still waiting for my MAF that's been back ordered, again. C'mon Dave, My Bronco II only took me 6 years to get up and running. So get busy alread...

Does anyone make custom die cast lettering?

I think it would be cool to replace the "II" in my Bronco II emblems with CCCII.

Road test came tonite! She really screamed with the open headers. Good thing I live in the country... It took about 100 yards before it finally shifted into third. Think I'll be buying new tires soon? http://www.epho.com/pkjorlie/b21.jpg http://www.epho.com/pkjorlie/b22.jpg Now it needs paint, muffl...

When installing a valve body in a C4 tranny, it's always a good idea to engage the kickdown lever properly. I took great care to do this the first time. It's also a good idea to make sure the manual control lever is properly engaged in the manual control valve. Unfortunately the manual control valve...

Before we get too carried away, what all is the serpentine belt running, and what is the v-belt running? Looks like you have both?

Couple questions: 1. Is that with or without the AC running? 2. Does the Duff radiator have an integral tranny cooler? 3. Does it stay cool at idle? 4. Are your AC condenser fins in good condition? I spent a lot of time with a butter knife straitening out my fins. I'm kinda surprised. I have a simil...

Hmmm... That's interesting Ranger Dave. I have always read that the C5 was a "weaker" tranny, but could be improved by installing a C4 valve body and filter kit. Perhaps before readjusting my bands, I should reinstall the C5 Valve Body. Dave, you just might get that C4 you gave me back. Paul

Yup. Used C4 belhousing and converter. Also used C4 specs to ajust bands. Probably should have used the C5 specs.

If nothing else, I could put the C5 valve body back in it.

Converted C5 has no Reverse

We have the drive shafts in the Bronco II now but have a transmission problem. I used a 1985 C5 from a Bronco II and replaced the valve body with one from a C4. I have no reverse and no neutral. It only wants to go forward. Even in park, it seems like the transmission is bogging down the engine when...

Yer right Jimmie. Good point. Right now we just have it in the ballpark. I'll set the timing tomorrow wit the engine at idle. I needed to do the 2000 rpm run before I let it idle for an extended amount of time for timing adjustment. I know the timing is off cuz stomping on the gas pedal will kill th...

Thanks to everyone that helped

Thanks to Dave and others on this site (including the old site) who helped me in the last 6 years of my BronccoII V8 project. I just finished the 30 minute 2000 rpm cam run-in and with no boil-overs or leaks. It got pretty hot (up to about 210) so I turned on the heater for the last ten minutes. It ...
