Re: Well going to be moving

Well the Lafayette, La location isn't where I'm living at now. That's where I'm working at right now. We are actually living in Iowa, La(about 20 minutes east of Lake Charles) and are both commuting to Lafayette. At about 140 miles round trip, we are desperately trying to sell our house to buy somet...

Re: Well going to be moving

Well Soul, it looks like you and I are in similar boats. Work dried up at the shop I was at so I went on the hunt and found something better. Now I'm in the process of selling everything not necessary, Harley included. Also, had to put my truck on hold until we move. Just no time to work on it right...

Re: Inner cylinders rich, outer cylinders lean??

Every single push rod had jumped out of place and was sitting next to the rockers. Never seen anything like it. WOW! I've never seen that! I told him each push rod is unique to it's bore. They wear into the lifter and rocker and should be returned to their original location. So what does he do. Pul...

Re: Inner cylinders rich, outer cylinders lean??

Now that's a good looking charger! Hopefully he can get it figured out and getting running again. 8k is pretty high for an engine that size unless it was built to handle it. I use to take my stock 289 to 8k now and again, it's scary that high up.

Best of luck to him.

Re: Inner cylinders rich, outer cylinders lean??

I hate to hear that with as much money as he has tied up in there. He's either going to melt the outers or wash out the walls and rings on the inners. Either way it's a bad thing. Some people...

Re: DIY EEC tuning, really???

The main reason for using SCT because I was given the working and unlocked X2 device for free. I was unaware that Quarterhorse was compatible with OBD-II. Looks like I have more research and more thinking to do...

Re: DIY EEC tuning, really???

Thanks for your help, I'm going to continue reading over there may even join if I have a few question that I don't find answers to. I just think it's fascinating that you can sit in the passenger seat and adjust things that use to require actual tools. I guess I'll continue to be intimidated by it u...

Re: DIY EEC tuning, really???

I have read that article as well as others. One question I have, I will be using SCT(already purchased an Xcal unit) on OBD-II PCM. I've noticed that most people are using an EEC-IV PCM with the A9L being the most common. What is the main difference between tuning EEC-IV and OBD-II? As I said earlie...

DIY EEC tuning, really???

I'm finally at the point of my build where it's time for a custom computer tune. My original plan was to have a local shop write me a "starter tune" just to get the truck running. I was then going to bring it to them so they could live tune it on the dyno. Lately I've been reading alot abo...

Re: Lake Emergency Overflow A Mile From House

Honestly I couldn't understand how flood insurance wouldn't cover flood damage for any reason. A flood is a flood. Than again, we were denied coverage after Rita. Insurance company said they don't cover wind damage. If it had been storm damage, we would have been covered but not wind damage. THE WIN...

Re: Lake Emergency Overflow A Mile From House

Fortunately it doesn't look as bad as originally feared. By Tuesday the river was expected to be above the highway 190 bridge. That hasn't happened yet and last I heard was still a foot or so below the bridge. I think the severe drought conditions have really helped. I agree though, it is a load of ...

Re: Lake Emergency Overflow A Mile From House

I dont know how everything up north is going, however I know theres a few guys here at work that live in Butte La Rose, La along the Atchafalaya river that are expecting to lose everything. With the opening of the Morganza Spillway, they're expecting water to crest 3-5 feet above their houses. Worse...

Hell, I would have never thought about that if v8ranger hadn't mentioned the divider plate on his boat intake.

Re: Inner cylinders rich, outer cylinders lean??

I agree, porting a carb intake is never a good idea.
