Re: A piece of V8 Ranger History
That's one thing I hate about having to sell a project. Years ago I sold a 1971 F100 that I had built. It had a 352 with a 3 on the tree and a bench seat. Loved that truck but I sold it to buy my first Mustang. Anyway, a year or so after I sold it, I came across it in my favorite junk yard. It was b...

Re: More $$$ than sense
Back when I worked at the ford place we had a few Raptors come with bent frames wanting warranty repair. They would bend between the bed and the cab. It was quite obvious they were being abused but we never had 100% solid proof so ford approved those repairs. Never understood how people could destro...

Re: Tuning time!!!
I have full datalogging capabilities using my LM-2 wideband controller. It allows me to view live data on my laptop, record data on my laptop, or record data using the LM-2 controller onto a SD card to be reviewed later. I mis-spoke, I have the X2. Hopefully I don't have those same issues as you. I ...

Re: motor mounts 96 2wd
I had to drill a hole in the crossmember for the passenger side mount on my '90. Your '96 may be different. As cgrey8 stated, they can be a pain to bolt down. They do set the engine in the best possible spot as low and as far back as possible without putting it into the firewall.

Re: motor mounts 96 2wd
I've seen high horsepower mustangs that get beat on using stock mounts without fail. He had a stock explorer engine and the mounts look like they're coming apart. I'm just gonna keep a close eye on mine and replace them with the stock 302 mounts when they fail. Maybe even before that. I'll agree, th...

Re: motor mounts 96 2wd
I also used the L&L mounts but after cgrey8's mounts broke, I'm a little concerned. The 4R70W is a good trans if built properly. What year is the trans?

Re: 351W swap?
454 in a civic?? Thats awesome. Best I've seen was a supercharged 5.4L in a Focus. The guy called it a Porsche Killer. That was done with mostly bolt on parts though.

351W swap?
Was taking a break from diagnosing the wiring issues on my truck today so I decided to spend some time working on my brothers truck. We were tearing apart the 302 to see what needed to be done when we found a very noticable crack on the #5 cylinder and a very rusted cylinder wall beneath the crack. ...

First Start video
Well, I got the truck running today. For some reason, I didn't have any oil pressure so I couldn't run it long. Not quite sure whats going on with that. I had oil pressure when I primed the pump, but none with the engine running. I'm going to install a manual gauge to verify if it's actually an oil ...

Re: Tuning time!!!
Well, I've had a few days to play with the SCT Advantage III program. I have to say, I have no complaints at all. I can access every aspect of the PCM calibration that I could ask for. I can even import part of a calibration file from another models PCM to compensate for changes in equipment. For ex...

Re: Tuning time!!!
Nah, it's an OBD-2 system. I'm not really worried about SCT datalogging because my Innovate LM-2 will datalog and I have access to Fords IDS scan tool.

Tuning time!!!
Well, after much thought and research I've decided to take the plunge into the world of EEC Tuning. I ordered the Innovate LM-2 Wideband kit and SCT Advantage software. Let the fun begin!!!
