Motor mount bolt
Hey cgrey8, I have always used a impact universal socket to get that nut off. The impact universals work different than a regular universal, you get more torque on them. I have pulled several 2.9's in my day and that's how I alway's did it. Oh, just to make sure, it's not a universal adapter, it is ...

seat brackets
Since we are talking about some seats I was just wondering if anyone had a set of seat brackets (tracks) whatever you call them for a 60/40 seat for a first generation Ranger. My son got a 60/40 seat out of a 94 Ranger and the seat brackets are different, having a heck of a time finding some first g...

weight
My sons is very close to yours, 85 2wd longbox, 7.5, AOD, aluminum radiator 2 core, aluminum intake manifold, it has air, no p/s, has power brakes, it does have a rear bumper (which son truly hate's, he has a roll pan for it but hasn't took time to install....kids). We weighed it one time at the loc...

inertia switch
The inertia switch is what will shut your fuel pump off if you get in a wreck, just in case the fuel line gets broke it won't just keep pumping fuel out. It works like an airbag, it feels the vibration from a collision and it will cut the power supply to your pump. I strongly recommend you keep it i...

I am not sure how a 89's 4cyl injection was setup, but on my son's 85 it actually had two pumps. It had the pump in the tank that supplied the injection (high pressure) pump mounted on the frame right below the master cylinder area. The pump in the tank only put out 5-6 psi. It was just a supply pum...

Cam
I would run the E for two reasons: 1- The E has more lift which will give you more lope at idle and low speeds....this is just a personal thing, I just love to listen to a healthy engine at idle with a good lope. The B does have a little more duration, not much but a little. 2- The E has a bigger RP...

Cam
Personally I would not run that big of a cam if the truck is going to be on the street very much at all. You will get into idle and vaccuum issues. The biggest I would run would be the E303 cam. Not sure exactly what fuel and ignition systems you are going to run but trust me, either way your truck ...

heater
I agree with cgrey8 as to run a hose from one fitting to the other. It will make the t/stat work correctly as he stated. If you just plug them off by the time the water near the t/stat gets hot and starts to open the temperature at the cylinder walls will be near or at dangerous levels. Then you get...

Fuel Line
I am not sure of the hair drier idea, I have never done it that way but I would think on high it would probably work. We always boiled some water and put the line in that then slipped it on. Usually worked real well, as with anything though there was always the one or two that would give you trouble...

Exhaust
I always fire mine up straight headers or manifols, whichever I'm running. The exhaust is alway's the last thing I do. Main reason is if there is a problem where I have to pull trans or engine or any under the vehicle work the exhaust system is not in my way. Also I must admit I just LOVE  the...

Auto Parts Store
I know what you mean Chris. I use to live in Sacramento Ca. and that's how most parts stores were there. Luckily there was a few good speed shops that were more than willing to help you. Now I live in SE Missouri and things sure are different here. The Napa boy's here have spent hours with me on dif...

It's called a tailgate skin. You just put it right on to your tailgate. Several places have them. We bought my sons from LMC.

E6SE????
I cannot find that number in any of my books or old info papers. I checked with some of my old racing buds and none of them have definite info on them. One of them said he remembers something like your describing and he calls them high swirl chambers with shrouded valves. He says they are not for pe...

E250 Intake
Intake will not fit under the hood. You will need to find a intake system from a car 351, or install a hood scoop. Aftermarket parts are just as plentiful for the 351 as they are the 5.0 You did not specify that you are wanting to go performance but I presume you are with a few other things you ment...
