Re: vacuum advance, advancing to quickly?

I think you are confusing the Power Valve with the Accelerator Pump? Awesome!, glad you got it fixed. :D

V8 Swap headers

These are brand new V8 swap headers for a small block 289-302 in a Ranger. They are Shelby style Tri-Y's with clearance for the 164 tooth large/late model bellhousing. They have been tried on 2WD I-beam trucks and fit well. Other applications will be your decision. These have been tried and work wit...

Re: Need help on my heater box??

Haha, I started the heat and clearance the heater box thing, or at I never heard of it before mine. It took all of 5 minutes. I used a heat gun and an oil filter to do the job. There's pics at http://www.rangerpowersports.com/forum/f402/vap-shop-truck-302-5-0-88-ranger-271611.html I used the try-Y h...

Re: vacuum advance, advancing to quickly?

Give a little more info on which 600 Holley you have. There have been about 20 different list numbers over the years. Also, what general shape is it in? Was it just rebuilt by somebody that knows Holleys, or brand new, or off of the shelf after sitting for a while etc.. I'm assuming it's a 4160 vacu...

Re: vacuum advance, advancing to quickly?

Easy enough to check weather the vacuum advance is causing the problem. Just pull the tube off of it and plug the tube. No, the timing won't be perfect but no worries, if the surge is gone then you are on the right track. I would change the power valve for something higher. At least an 8.5. The rule...

Re: i dont kow if this belongs here or not ......

The 351C (335 series) is and has always been a small block. It shares all the major specs with the Windsor small block series and nothing whatsoever with either big block series (either the FE or 385 series). Where people get into trouble here is to assume that because the 351M (Michigan, not modifi...

Don't cut your heater box!

(I am copying my post on TRS for you guys here in hopes of saving somebody serious aggravation.) The plastic that the heater box is made from is some kind of styrene and responds well to heat. All I did to make clearance for the valve cover was to mark the area that needed to clear, heat it up with ...

I did this same thing on my 86 FS Bronco. I just built up a set of fittings that ran the FP supply back into the tank return with a "T" that ran to the carb inlet. I originally had a needle valve on the return side and a PSI regulator and gauge at the carb so I could see and adjust the PSI...

What happened to TRS?

TRS seems to be dead. Anybody know if they are coming back?
