Re: 8.8 New rear end flange install help

Re: Really bad engine sludge

Re: death of the Ranger

Yep. Through the magic of physics, coolant circulates around the center bearings when the engine is off. Coolant will heat rapidly and rise up the coolant tube allowing cooler coolant to flow in and continue cooling the bearings after shutdown. No idling in the driveway for a minute or two to cool t...

Re: death of the Ranger

The EcoBoost 3.5 has the turbos mounted in the exhaust manifolds and is a typical intake in the valley/exhaust on the outside 'V' configuration. It is a blast to drive. Hard to believe its a V6.The new 6.7 diesel flows the heads backwards. Intake air comes in from the outside and exhaust leaves into...

Re: 99 Ranger air bag problem

LFC 19 is RCM crash data full. You'll need to replace the RCM.

you may have a cap with a blueish tint. also see if you can look up at the piston skirts/ underside and check them. look at the cylinder walls for any scuffs or scoring.

only time I've had a piston hit a counterweight was with a bent rod. Never had any experience with an aftermarket crank though.

5w20 is the recommended oil for a 2000 5.0L, you should be fine. I run 5w20 in my 94 2.3L with 270,000.
