Re: Hit a damn deer...
Wow, I'm ADHD and I still read that entire article, awesome putting together the pieces of fiction VS reality meets product review.

Re: Hit a damn deer...
I don't hunt either but about half the people I know do.
You have created a new hunting season.
Bow season
Rifle season
Ranger season
Glad nobody was hurt, sorry about your truck

When is deer season in your area? Ours was last week, we see a lot more accidents during this time.
Are you OK?

Re: My swap is killing me
Looks like a good time! I'll admit I didn't know about it till you said something. I plan on working on my Ranger that saturday but I should be able to make it there for a while any way. I'll let you know if I'm going to be there perhaps we can say hi :) I'm not taking any cash though LOL I don't tr...

Re: My swap is killing me
Bought a Cloyes but went simple and got a stock replacement C3206. I just want to get the thing together and drive it. This is one of two projects, the minute it gets on the road I'm buying a 4WD version and starting that. I already told my wife I'm collecting rangers from now till the day I pass (o...

Re: Server was down today
Well I'm going to try my best to juice it up a little. I have some ideas and would even be willing to "invest" a little if anyone is interested. The art of converting a ranger to V8 is like the coolest thing on the planet in my opinion, and I'm sure there are enough people doing it to supp...

Re: My swap is killing me
Was going to buy one on your suggestion, the summit site says that 1997 it only fits 351? Mine is a 1997 5.0 from a mountaineer. They have others they say will fit.. Here is the one I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Small-block-Ford-289-302-5-0-timing-chain-torrington-thrust-true-roller-Mustang-/281...

Re: My swap is killing me
I bought a transmission for one but couldn't find an entire vehicle that was not 4WD. Would have been nice LOL. So today I get both the old motor mounts out and start measuring. It looks as if the lower height of the original driver side mount compliments the brackets perfectly. ? So I did a more ta...

My swap is killing me
Since this is the only V8 ranger specific forum on the internet (it really is) I am choosing to vent here. The views expressed are those of my own and no animals will be harmed during this post. My swap is killing me. I wish someone would just tell me it really can't be done and I would cut my losse...

Re: Motor mounts
Only if you start with a torsion bar ranger evidently. I have a new set of expo mounts and the angle is wrong. I read that for a coil spring ranger you needed to use 4.0 motor mounts and adapter plates. There was a guy on the now defunct RPS forum that was selling them a few years back and since thi...

Motor mounts
Do you know if the Anchor brand 2850 and 2851 are directly compatible with the ford Yl5Z-6038-CB Passenger side mount and Yl5Z-6038-CA Driver side mount? Also would you happen to have a spare set of the 5.0 adapter plates? I have the Amhurst Design drawings and can make my own..would save a lot of t...

Re: V8 tach module
I bet that's a phpBB bug. You have to be kidding. phpBB has bugs? Would have never thought that :) I'm not going to worry about the tach for this swap, it isn't an issue. The concept of dropping every 4th pulse seems easy enough. Since mine was a 4 cyl I would have to drop every other pulse (which ...
