Header coatings
Malcolm I have been using coated headers for years. A set of uncoated headers will last about 2 years of every day driving around here (MI.) the salt eats them up. They rot around the where the tube's merge. I have a set that have been coated back in "97" on my 96 F250 460 and they still l...

Injection Question
Jimmie I'm not knocking your SDS system, I just wanted some feedback on how it's been working for you. The resistors they gave you are to simulate high impedance injectors. The resistors are probably 10 OHMS. I do agree with you money can fix a lot of things! A DFI Ford kit P.N. 77030 is about $1700...

low Pluse width Injector control
Jimmie How is the injector control with SDS? I can run any size injector down to 1.3ms and still have very good control. A lot of the systems out there can't go below 2.0ms without loosing control. I use 36# injectors in my 302 and it runs fine (idles at 14.4 A/F) This engine makes just shy of 400HP...

Injector sizing
Jimmy If you look at sds's chart they use a BSFC of 0.55 this is for a supercharged application. N/A we use 0.45, and for a turbo 0.60-0.65. a pro-stock eng will run around 0.32. If you use Estmated HP X BSFC divid by number of injectors this will give you 100% dutycycle. If you want to run at 85% X...

Mock up headers
Malcolm The guys at Mac helped me out and were very nice to work with. He said he had no idea if they would work but was willing to take them back if they wouldn't. I told them what I was doing and they sent me a pair of 94-95 Mustang shorties uncoated so I could modify them. I don't have "P&qu...

Injector Sizing
This is the quick and easy way to figure out injector sizing. Take your est HP X BSFC divide by number of injectors. BSFC= .45 naturaly aspirated, .50-.55 Supercharged, .55-.65 Turbocharged. Example for 400HP N/A engine. 400 X .45 divide by 8 = 22.5Lb. injector. for this I would recommend a 23Lb. in...

Trans Controler
Malcolm Is this DOS software? When we did the controler for Ford Power Products in the early 90's for the E4OD then later on for the 4R70W it was all done in DOS, My competition (fast) has just released a Windows version. We stoped making the trans controlers in 95 due to lack of sales. I think that...
