Re: 94 splash 5.0L
That is exactly what I have. 94 Ranger short bed with a 95 Mustang GT donor car. Wiring is not that big of deal if you have the wiring diagrams for the Ranger and the Mustang. I just used colored highlighters and traced almost every wire. I used both harnesses and graphed them together. I used the r...

Trouble codes
It's been a while since I posted here but I'm always checking up on everybody's projects. A quick refresher of what I have. 94 Ranger reg. cab short bed with 95 mustang donor. T5 manual, 347 shortblock with steel crank and H beam rods from CHP (Coast High Performance). E303 cam with motorsport 1:6 r...

On the subject of Jet Hot or ceramic coating, I got mine coated at a local shop called Young Guns. I too am disappointed in the heat containment. Not even close to advertised. Under my hood feels the same as if they were bare. The guy explained to me that you could use mothers aluminum polish to res...

On mine, I used steel an fittings and soldered them on to the fuel pump. From there on out mine looks a lot like Chris's. I ran the lines outside the frame rail but I used a 95' mustang fuel rail with the stock fuel pressure regulator. I would love to post pics but I am brain dead in the computer de...

Yeah. I replaced it with a remanufactured one and was wondering if I should bite the bullet and buy a brand new Ford one. I did the tests it describes in the Ford shop manuals like pulling of the hoses at the bypass and diverter valves and see if there is adequate air flow at each port. It seems to ...

Not at all. Everything including the heads and air tubing is brand new. During one of the KOER tests, I took an air compressor hose and shot it into the air tubing that goes to the heads and the thermactor codes disappeared. As expected, all I got was an O2 sensor too lean code. To me, that proves t...

Update
Here is an update on what is going on with the smog pump issue. I did put a stock set of pulleys on my truck and ran the codes. All I got now is code 311 which is only the passender side. I'm thinking why can't the air pump overcome the exhaust pressure? Afterall I have larger headers, larger exhaus...

Thermactor air injection
I know there are some pretty smart guys in here so I will send you this question. I have an appointment with the referee station tomorrow to get my truck smog certified in California. But I have a problem. I am getting running codes of 311 and 314 thermactor left and right malfunction. I have been t...

I believe that they get adjusted when you step on the brakes while going in reverse. It should, if necessary move one click. The process gets repeated when you brake forward and then brake in reverse again. Think I got this right. Just for the record, I am a disc fan. I agree that the drums are more...

I am having a problem with evacuating all the air out too. Now that I have a tig welder, I was going to make an aluminum expansion tank (degas bottle, surge tank, whatever they call it) to help with purging the air. I am going to mount it on the passenger inner fender well. In turn, I will weld the ...
